Stephen F. Kelly

Stephen F. Kelly is serving as Assistant General President of the United Association. Previously, he served as an International Representative, working with the Training Department.

He comes from the Youngstown, OH area and became a member of the UA in July 1969 as a pipe-fitter/welder. After moving to Page, Arizona, he transferred to Local Union 469.

In October of 1976, he went to work in the San Diego, California area. In late 1977, his UA membership was transferred to LU 230. That same year he became an Instructor in the San Diego apprenticeship and Journeyman training program.

Stephen was elected Business Agent in 1984, and in 1986 became the Assistant Business Manager of LU 230. He was elected Business Manager in 1989 and held that position until going to work at the General Office as a Special Representative in October of 1997.

At the 2001 National Convention Stephen was elected International Representative and held that position until he was appointed as Assistant General President in December 2004.
