← UA PLUMBERS / Plumbers protect the health of the nation
When you consider how important plumbing and sanitation are to protecting our standard of living, it's no surprise that plumbers are credited with protecting the health of the nation. Plumbing is critical to the health and safety of the public, and that's why the UA is committed to maintaining the highest standards in the industry.
The skilled plumbers of the United Association are among the best trained and most experienced skilled tradespeople working in the building industry today. Our contractors and members are actively engaged in plumbing installation, repair, service and maintenance of piping and plumbing systems and equipment used for drinking (potable) water distribution, sanitary waste drainage, storm water systems and gas distribution. Our contractors and members also work on technical installations for medical gas in hospitals and nursing homes, hydronic in-floor heating, solar thermal panels, heat pumps, cross-connection control and many other systems necessary for the health and safety of the general public.
While some see plumbing regulations as an obstruction to their objective of building as cheaply and quickly as possible, most people appreciate that the rules were designed to protect their health and safety. Responsible builders know that failure to invest in quality plumbing installations and service can result in property damage and health hazards. Potable water systems, as well as sanitary waste drainage systems, must be installed and maintained correctly, and the highly trained piping professionals of the United Association can do exactly that.
