Strategic Planning

Strategically thinking about the future and planning on where the UA and each of our local unions should aspire to be is a priority for our organization.  It is for this very reason that the Strategic Planning Committee was formed and actively develops new policies and programs to move the UA forward in all vital aspects of our industry, including skills training and workforce development, industry relations, community service, political action and local union administration.

Our industry is changing rapidly in many regions with a dramatic shift in the composition of the construction workforce. We are committed to maintaining the highest level of skills in the industry, as well as preparing the workforce of tomorrow with the skills needed to meet growing changes.  Implementation of the strategic planning process provides us with vital approaches, model practices, and critical information to set realistic goals that allow us to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

The framework of the Strategic Planning program is:
